We publish plain-language explanations of defined benefit, cash balance and 412(e)(3) pension plans for small business owners, each with its source in the statute, the regulation or the agency page it comes from. We introduce owners who want a proposal to an independent plan firm. We are not a law firm, an accounting firm or an actuarial firm. We are not a plan administrator, a plan trustee or a custodian, and we never hold, receive or direct plan money. We are not an insurance company, a registered investment adviser or a broker-dealer. We do not sell, solicit or negotiate insurance in any state.

Plan design, actuarial work, plan administration and any annuity or investment products described on this site are provided by [PARTNER FIRM LEGAL NAME AND ROLE, PENDING THE OWNER'S WRITTEN CLEARANCE], a firm independent of Defined Benefits LLC. Every plan is designed by that firm's enrolled actuary on your own census, and every figure you receive from it is that firm's, not ours.

Census uploads use the Defined Benefits client portal's Shared Files flow. We use the contact, business and employee information you provide to review your retirement plan inquiry and contact you about it. Remove Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, driver license numbers and medical information before uploading. Portal uploads do not pass through this website's filtering code.
